Portable Line Boring and Bore Welding in One Setup
SPOWER portable line boring and bore welding machines repair worn bores, bushings and bearing housings on heavy equipment directly at the job site. Instead of dismantling an excavator boom, a crane hinge or a crusher frame and transporting it to a workshop, the machine is clamped onto the workpiece, the worn bore is rebuilt by bore welding and then machined back to size in the same setup.
The S50 system covers bore diameters from 40 mm to 300 mm and is supplied with 50 mm and 35 mm line boring bar systems, 160 mm and 300 mm modular tool holder sets and a bore welding torch head for build-up. Because the boring bar and the welder share the same mounting frame, alignment is maintained between welding and machining, which makes the repair repeatable across a fleet of the same machine.

Frequently Asked Questions
What bore diameter can a portable line boring and welding machine handle?
The S50 range covers bores from 40 mm to 300 mm depending on the model. The S50/40-160 and S50/40-300 start at 40 mm, while the S50/55-160 and S50/55-300 start at 55 mm. The 160 mm tool holder set is used for the smaller machines and the 300 mm set for the larger ones.
Can the bore be welded and machined in one setup?
Yes. The bore welding torch head and the line boring bar use the same mounting frame, so the worn bore can be built up by welding and then machined back to size without moving the machine between steps.
Does the part have to be removed from the machine?
No. The machine is clamped onto the workpiece on site, which avoids the cost of dismantling, transport and re-alignment that a workshop repair would require.
