S Power Portable Lathe PL50 for On-Site Journal Repair

A bearing journal is the load-carrying part of a shaft. When worn, it loses roundness, so the bearing overheats and it vibrates. Turning it back to size fixes this.
Earlier the shaft went to a workshop for weeks. The PL50 portable lathe turns it in place, shaft installed.
The PL50 mounts on a large drum shaft at a crushing plant, its head aligned to the shaft centerline; the tool slides to cut. One setup turns the journal, machines the shoulder and cuts the fillet.
We bolt it to the shaft or bracket, verify it runs true, take a light cut and measure. The tool follows the bearing-seat centerline, so the finished journal stays concentric—meeting specs.
Two workers set up, cut and inspect in one shift, so the crusher restarts same day.
SPOWER Portable Lathe PL50 fits crusher and pump shafts, turbine journals, rudder posts and press rams—ideal for shafts too costly to move.
